Common Areas
We have available to our guests many areas where they can relax by the fireplace, enjoy group discussions, read a book, write, draw or otherwise enjoy themselves. There are porches and rocking chairs, patios and tables, lawn furniture and coy ponds with waterfalls. Inside is the formal parlor area, a wonderful library, Tavern room and Virginia Tech Room. Board games, books, chess, and other distractions are yours for the asking.
Breakfast is served in the dinning room where great family gatherings have taken place and of course the kitchen is always a focal point. You will feel completely at Home in our Home. Welcome.
The McGavock Library
A comfortable red room where one can sit beside the fireplace with a good book, admire the Civil War artwork, delve into history & genealogy or simply listen to music or watch a movie.-Reservation Information

The Cloyd Parlor
Named for a founding family in the area who at one point owned 80,000 acres. The Civil War Battle of Cloyd's Mountain occurred nearby. The room has oversize Jeffersonian windows that open into the ceiling to allow access to the porch. Original brass foil cornices over the windows and ornate plaster crown work and medallions. A good place to gather around the piano or fireplace.-Reservation Information

The Patio
